Perhaps Round Glasses Are the Secret Weapon of Cate Blanchett's BAFTA Win

Perhaps Round Glasses Are the Secret Weapon of Cate Blanchett's BAFTA Win

Cate Blanchett recently won the BAFTA award for best actress in London on Sunday Evening. She returned to her native land Australia on Tuesday looking happy and satisfied. She arrived at the Sydney Kingsford Smith International airport wearing very fashionable spectacles. The glasses featured dark shaded lenses. The round glasses with golden round glasses frames looked quite attractive and mature and suited her very well. She also wore a pastel pink coat, a luxurious gray cashmere tracksuit and a black t-shirt. On her feet she wore simple leather ballerina flats. Her vintage style suited her.

She wore very minimal makeup. Her half moon glasses were quite unique and distinctive in style. At the BAFTA’s she made a very touching speech after winning the award. She dedicated the speech to actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, who died recently. While speaking, she got quite emotional and at one point seemed close to tears. She said that he had been a ‘profound, continuous touchstone’ for her and had ‘continually raised the bar’. She also said that his generosity, talent and quest for truth would be missed. She faced competition from Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock, Emma Thompson and Judi Dench for the award but she ultimately won it for her role in Woddy Allen’s “Blue jasmine”.
